Where do you want to be in 5 years from now and how do you get to this point ?

Most of you have spent this past year to get along with their business as good as possible - maintaining their websites, send out mailings from time to time, advertise here and there and visit known clients periodically, and so on.

But have you ever asked yourself whether your marketing strategy still is suitable during these fast chaging times ?

Have you ever checked whether the needs of your clients may have changed - an where/how ?

Do they possibly have new plans or products or production places - to which you should react ?

... or have they possibly joined with others and you could use existing contacts here also ?

Could this be also a point in time to develop new products yourself ?

Have you thought about new markets/market segments either in your own country or abroad - e. g. the European Community is by now consisting of 27 individual markets with abt. 500 million inhabitants !?

Could you perhaps contact new/additional markets due to the core-competencies which are permanently developed in your company ?

Is your market positioning still up-to-date, i. e. have you kept pace with the new developments and competition from foreign countries with regard to your market portion and -position ?

If yes, are all these changes included in your marketing plan and do you have thus a better overview/clearer target for the future of your company ?

These are just a few questions which should be asked by managers from time to time.
